Steve was a skilled carpenter and worked various construction jobs throughout his life. There wasn’t ever a trip around Helena that he didn’t point out his work.
He enjoyed gardening and kept one of the nicest lawns in the neighborhood. You would always find Steve after a day’s work having an ice-cold Bud Light in his Griz chair sitting in the garage.
Steve enjoyed watching Nascar, the Green Bay Packers and he was an avid Montana Grizzlies enthusiast. He was in a house divided however as Debbie was an avid Montana State Bobcats fan. Steve loved placing bets with friends on the Brawl of the Wild.
His greatest joy was becoming a grandfather to his three amazing grandkids. The grandkids enjoyed when he would stop by with a milkshake in hand to visit.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Margaret Gray, life partner Debbie Walter and grandson Derek Walter. Steve is survived by his daughter Katie (Brad) Anderson and granddaughter Hannah and grandson Raynor, son Kelly (Arely) Gray and granddaughter Myah, sister Barb (Steve) Levad and niece Jennifer Pulvermacher and her children Kayla, Madison, Ledger and Branden and niece Kristin Brown and her children Gavyn and Lily and sister Nancy (Alan) Gray-Sinner, step-son Steve Walter and granddaughter Delanie, step-daughter Stephanie Walter and step-daughter Kimberley Ring and granddaughters Kylee, Madison, Allison, Nevaeh, Summer and Rylie and his two beloved dogs Magoo and Ozzie.
