Marie Straw Obituary
Marie Francis Straw passed away at her home in Helena, Montana on September 17th, 2022 of natural causes at age 95.
Marie was born in Lovell, Wyoming on July 7, 1927 to parents James and Helen Egan. Marie had three siblings: Margarette, James, and Joseph.
Marie met and married Paul Norman Straw Sr in Billings, Montana and they were married on September 27, 1947 at the First Methodist Church in Billings.
Over the course of her life she worked a number of jobs, but the ones that she remembered the most were driving the school bus for the Billings School District and reading power meters for Rual Valley Electric.
Marie had many hobbies and excelled in most. She was extremely gifted in painting, cake decorating, and sewing.
Marie is survived by her children Helen Paulette Meyers, Paul Norman Straw Jr, and William Joseph Straw; grandchildren Kimberly Austill, Steven Buckalew, Alisa Straw, Lindey Straw, Sara Straw, Jeff Straw, Danny Straw, and Joseph Straw; and 6 great-grandchildren along with her only surviving sibling Joseph Phillip Egan of Seattle, Washington.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years Paul Norman Straw Sr, sons Richard Wade Straw, son Brent Edward Straw, sister Mararette Harmon, and brother Jame Egan.
A small and intimate Celebration of Life will be held at 1:0pm on Wednesday, September 28th at 368 Springfield Drive, Helena, Montana 59602.
