Kathryn W. Mohs

Kathryn W. Mohs, 76, of Helena passed away on August 5, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 5, 1946 in Hankinson, North Dakota to Edward and Alva Mae (Popp) Scheller. Kathy graduated from Hankinson High School in 1964. She worked in Fargo, ND and went to school until she was united in marriage to Curtis Mohs on January 28, 1967 in Great Bend, ND. The couple made their home in Helena, MT.

Kathy worked at St. Peter’s Health as a nurse’s aide in her early years and then she went on to work at Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Rocky Neighborhood Center in Helena. She also enjoyed soccer, softball, bowling, pinochle and bingo.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Carole Worner and Judy Miller.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Curt, as well as two sons, Bob and Rick (Robyn), both of East Helena, five grandchildren, Anthony (Paige), Isabelle, Nathan, Derick and Isaak, two great grandchildren, Noah and Sawyer, one sister, Sally Wallock of Fargo, ND and special friends Joe and Linda Balcerzak.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on August 19, 2023 at the First Lutheran Church, Helena, with a reception following the service. Her urn will be placed at Forestvale Cemetery. Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
