Judith “Judy” Marie Rose of Avon, MT died unexpectedly at St. Peter’s Hospital due to Covid pneumonia on July 25, 2022. She was 72 years old.
Judy was born in Helena, MT on December 29, 1949, to Harry and Cecile Susag. She was the fourth child of 4 girls and one boy.
She grew up and attended schools mostly in Helena, graduating from Helena High School in 1968. Growing up, her niece, Sharon, became her best friend for life.
In 1972, she welcomed her only child, Jodi, whom she lived her life for. She worked very hard as a single mother to provide for her daughter. She worked as a typographer for most of her working life at the Helena Letter Shop later known as The Printers, Century Lithography, MT State Publications & Graphics, Insty-Prints, MT Forest Service, and then finally at MTDOJ Department of Motor Vehicles. Judy was formerly married to David Rose of Clancy, MT.
Judy had the biggest heart, warmest hugs, and best advice. Judy adored her family. She was admired by those who knew her well. Judy retired in 2013 and in 2017 she moved to Avon to live with her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren until her death.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley Roope, sister Jane Black, and brother James “Jamie” Martz. She is survived by her sister, Mary Losey (Wayne), daughter Jodi Colby (Myles) of Avon, MT, granddaughters; Raechel Brown (Logon) of Brinnon, WA, Katrina McMillin (Roy Jandert) of Helena, Michaela McMillin of Deer Lodge, Cassandra Colby (John Kasowski) of Helena, Tianna Orcutt of Spokane, WA, and grandsons; Nathan Colby of Avon and Dustin Colby of Eagleville, TN. She is also survived by her greatgrandchildren, Nirvana, Kaius, Isabel, Brayden, Ava, Leland, Kaisley, Kaden, Kali, Karson, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Avon Community First Responders, Deer Lodge Ambulance, St. Peter’s Hospital, Simple Cremation, and especially RN “Kevin” who was working with the family.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Simple Cremation Montana, followed by a graveside service at Forestvale Cemetery and a reception at 4:00PM at the Moose Lodge.
