Donathon “Don” Palmer passed away peacefully in Bozeman Montana hospital following a stroke with family by his side at the age of 83.
He lived the first part of his life in Wisconsin where he was an accomplished water skier for the aqua flyers of Fond du lac and was in the Army Reserves.
He was a land surveyor and later was elected County Surveyor for Waushara county, he held that office from 1971 to 1979. He then moved to Bozeman Montana where he lived the rest of his life, working for the U.S. Forest Service and also for a local engineering company and finally operated his own land surveying business before retiring.
He had a passion for the outdoors and as an artist his artwork and paintings reflected that passion.
His love for the outdoors and all it offered was evident in everything he did
Being an accomplished big game hunter and fisherman.
He loved the mountains, hiking up into them and camping on foot or by horseback.
He loved all of his family ”Dearly “ and love all the special times that he spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Marion Palmer and his sister Karen Bascue.
He is survived by 3 sisters; Jill (Myron) Nicholson, Kathy (Grace) Palmer and Kristeen (Larry) Forcum.
5 children; Don (Tamarie) Palmer,
Tim (Tammy) Palmer, Kim Palmer,
Lori (Thomas) Carlsson and
Colleen (Steven) Hughes.
9 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren
And many cousins and friends.
He lived a full life that impacted those around him he will be sincerely and deeply missed by all.
Cremation has taken place and he will remain in Montana.
