Christine (Christie) Lynn Conner of Helena, MT, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home with loved ones by her side on April 2, 2024. She was 53 years young.
Christie was born on June 22, 1970 in Helena, MT to Marlene and Tim Conner. She was the youngest of three girls. She graduated with the class of ‘88 from Helena High as a Bengalette where she met many lifelong friends. Christie lived her life on her own terms and set off into the world a free spirit. She discovered her greatest joy as a mother and had two daughters that she homeschooled. She taught them the value of hard work and having a charitable heart. You could find the three of them at the Humane Society every Friday where Christie developed and ran the volunteer training program. From the local food pantry, church events, and animal rescue fundraisers you could find Christie leading the way to help those in need.
Christie passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after battling an unexpected fight with leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Her zest for life showed through until the very end. She will be remembered for the love she willingly gave to family and friends, her kindness, warm smile, contagious laugh, fighting spirit, her ability to listen to all who needed an ear, a heart of gold, and of course her devotion to animals as a caregiver and rescuer.
Christie is survived by her daughters, Sidnie Metcalf (Tyler) and Ashlie Kane; her ray of light and love, grandson Ryder Metcalf, and his grandpa Bob Kane; her mother Marlene Conner and father Tim Conner (Donna); her favorite sister Colleen “Coco” Larson (Neil); her nephew Nicholas Bruno (Kalena), niece Quinn Larson, and grand nieces Adelasia and Willa Bruno.
She is preceded in death by her oldest and other favorite sister Carol Bruno, and her beloved pony Sundance.
