Obituary

Tiffany Anne Nordby Sauer, Montana City Passed from this world in her sleep from Cardiac Arrhythmia on October 6th.  She was born November 23rd, 1947, to Wayne and Anne Nordby in Mankato, Minnesota.  After the death of her mother, she, her brothers and sisters were raised in Red Lake Falls, MN by her uncle and aunt Chris and Mary Drees.   She graduated from high school in Red Lakes Falls and attended X-ray Technician training In Crookston, MN.

She enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Hospital Corpsman during the Viet Nam War.  She met her future husband Terry at the Naval Hospital in Newport R.I. Upon discharge she attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota.  She and Terry were married June 16th, 1973 and began a 40 year adventure following Terry's Ranger career throughout the West.

She was a Park Ranger in Glacier and Death Valley National Parks.  She then apprenticed as an upholsterer under her great uncle in Seattle, WA.  She tended bar at a roadhouse outside of Libby, MT and worked as a Wilderness Ranger with the U.S. Forest Service in the Idaho panhandle. While in the California Desert she was a Life Skills instructor at a State Prison.  Tiffany then coordinated a Women's Non-Tradition Employment Program at Rock Springs College in Wyoming.

Moving to the Helena area, she was an Employment Counselor at Westmont and Spring Meadow Resources, helping people with disabilities find meaningful work. In retirement she enjoyed cross country skiing and kayaking.  She was a voracious reader, gourmet cook and loved visiting with her family. She served on several boards advocating for people with disabilities. She was a kind soul always wanting to help people.

She is survived by her husband Terry, their dog Pat, her sisters Jennifer (Frank) Paterson, Minneapolis, MN Gemma (Larry) Johnson of Red Lake Falls, MN, Laurel Tully, Ann (Wyatt) Parsons, brothers Joel and David (Lori) Nordby, her stepmother Luann Nordby and sister-in-law Jardi Nordby all from Missoula. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Mark Nordby.

Cremation has taken place and in accordance with her wishes no formal services will be held.  A celebration of her life will be scheduled in the near future.  In lieu of flowers and memorials, please take care of our pets and keep Montana wild and beautiful.
