IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas
Jacobson
May 29, 1952 – November 23, 2022
Thomas "Tom" Jacobson, of Elliston, Montana died November 23, 2022. He was 70 years old.
Tom was born on May 29, 1952 in Helena, Montana. His parents were Peggy and Marvin Jacobson. He passed away, in the home he built and loved, on November 23, 2022 of a rare brain disorder, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD).
Tom graduated from Helena High in 1971. After graduation he ventured to Denver, Colorado to attend the Colorado School of Trades Gunsmithing Program. He would tell you that one of his happiest days was Denver in the rear-view mirror.
At one time or another, Tom must have owned every gun ever made and could tell you in great detail about all of them. He and his buddy Clyde would sit and talk for hours about their guns. If they weren't talking about guns, they were out shooting rocks. And then there was Tyler, another gun enthusiastic, who also talked the talk about guns.
Tom enjoyed hunting and had quite a few stories to tell. Like the time he came face to face with a grizzly bear. He didn't know he could walk so fast backwards. It's amazing he lived to tell that one. Elizabeth learned her hunting skills from him. It was a happy day for him when he was with her when she shot her first elk. Hunting in eastern Montana with Chris was always an adventure too. Deer, antelope, pheasants, prairie dogs and pigeons were among the hunted.
Tom spent his adult years working in the construction business. For many years he had his own business, Jacobson Drywall. He hung many businesses and homes in Helena and the surrounding area.
In August of 1986 Tom met Anne Tinsley. It must have been love at first sight and a very short courtship. They were married September 26, 1986.
Tom loved his family. His greatest joy was his twin grandkids Maddy and Owen. He loved them with all his heart even though he often said one plus one does not always equal two when they were around. He enjoyed watching Elizabeth and Maddy barrel race and Steve and Owen race dirt bikes.
Tom was preceded in death by his son Gary, his parents, his mother and father-in-law Gene and Laura Tinsley, and his brother Mark. He is survived by his wife Anne, daughter Elizabeth Clinch (Steve) grandkids Maddy and Owen, sisters Linda Thorson (Ron) ,Lorena Payne (Dave), Cindy Cobbly (Gary), Karrie Schall (Perry), brother Glenn Pettet ( Shelly) , sister-in-law Laura Pettet , Aunt Irene Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews and special cousin Dan.
