Sonia Ann (Claver) Hines was born on October 18,1934 in Lewistown, Montana.

She met Leon Hines from Catfish, Montana and they were married on December 24, 1950 in Lewistown.

In November 1951 they welcomed their first son, Alan Leon.

Two years later, their son Steven Eugene was born.

In 1957 they welcomed a daughter, Cheryl Ann.

In 1959 son Tommy Lee was born prematurely, only living a few days.

Sonia and her family moved to Helena in 1961. Sadly, her husband Leon died in 1967.

She remained a widow, raising her 3 children in Helena.

To support her family she worked at St. Peter's hospital from 1961 to1993.

Sonia was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ellen, her husband Leon, son Steven, and son Tommy.

Sonia is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Hines) Monego and her husband Joe; son Alan Hines and his wife Linda; sister Grace, and brother Ron.

She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Janelle Hines, Jodi Hines, Jamie (Hines) Critcher, husband Jake, Matthew Hines, Amy (Monego) Blondheim, Tyler Monego, wife Jessica, David Monego, wife Jessica, Melissa Hines, Joshua Hines, and Jonathan Hines.

She also had 13 great-grandchildren: Levi, Gemma, Ava, Ellery, Mia, William, Wyatt, Hank, Alexis, Christopher, Jordan, Alaya, and Henry.

Sonia peacefully passed away at age 88 on February 7, 2023 , at her daughters home in Clancy, MT.

Sonia was a loving and generous mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family and friends.
