Shirley (Tiensvold) Mangan, of Helena, MT passed away June 12, 2024. She died peacefully with her daughter by her side. She was 81 years old. Shirley was born on June 7, 1943 in Rushville, NE. She was the youngest of four daughters of Hiram and Loretta Tiensvold. She graduated from Rushville High School then left to Helena in 1960 which became her home. Shirley worked as a book keeper at a couple of businesses throughout her life. She had two daughters, Laurie and Eva with her first marriage to Les Jackson. Then married Tom Mangan in 1983 and combined her children with an additional three sons and a daughter. Tom introduced Shirley to fly fishing and they were always out fishing, enjoying watching the wildlife (especially moose) and being together. They also enjoyed riding their bikes. Shirley loved puzzles and her and her sisters could play a very competitive game of skip-Bo! She also loved spending time with her family and friends . Shirley is survived by her children, Jeff Mangan (Lisa), Laurie Allen (Bryan), Eva Zimmerman (Mike) and Colleen Allison (Bill). Grandchildren, Taylor, Ben, Jake, Izabelle, Jenelle, Brandon and Mikayla. Two great grandchildren. Her two sisters, Beverly Kockrow (Dean) of Valentine, NE and Lois Jean Kearns (Jim) of Salt Lake City, UT. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Loretta, her husband Tom, and sister and brother in law Ginger and Gordon Ragsdale. A memorial service is scheduled for July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Helena, MT. Father Bart Tolleson will officiate the ceremony. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Lewis & Clark Humane Society, Our Lady of the Valley or your favorite charity in Shirley's name.
