IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon Lee
Avery
May 29, 1944 – September 17, 2025
It is with saddened hearts that on September 17, 2025 our family lost a beautiful soul. Sharon Lee Avery passed away as a result of many health challenges. She died peacefully at home with her family at her side. She now moves about the Heavens free of pain and discomfort.
Sharon was born on May 29, 1944. She graduated from Helena High School in 1962. In January of 1963 she married Raymond P. Vulk. During their marriage they welcomed 4 children: Sarah, Beth, Amy and Paul. Sharon worked in the home and on the family ranch located in the Helena valley. It was after all 4 of the children began to attend school, that Sharon took various jobs within the community. After 14 years of marriage, Sharon and Raymond divorced.
In May of 1978, she married Cd Avery. With this union, her family grew to 6 kids welcoming Chris and Jennifer. With the arrival of grandkids, Sharon and Cd were lovingly referred to by family and friends as "Oma" and "Opa". During the 47 years that Oma and Opa were together, the house was filled with love, excitement and conversation. There was never a dull moment as friends, family and pets were welcomed into her home. Oma greatly loved her 6 children, however, she would tell you that the grandchildren were her greatest treasures. With these grandchildren then came great-grandchildren and a couple of great-great grandchildren.
Sharon served as County Election Judge for many years. She also worked at the Department of Revenue for about 13 years. Cd and Sharon spent time traveling and enjoyed the adventure of visiting Museums, walking along beaches, and sight-seeing. After retiring from the state, she focused on her other true joy .... her gift of Art. She was an amazing artist. Whether she was drawing/painting animals, nature or her grandchildren, they were truly gifts from her heart. Even when her body failed her at being able to hold a steady hand, she still had the willpower to draw.
Oma absolutely loved her family, and they were her world. She supported each and every one of them and was so very proud of all of their accomplishments. Time spent with family was one of her greatest pleasures and she treasured all of them.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Cd Avery; her children Sarah Kelly (Kevin) of Helena, Beth Barry (Mark) of Helena, Amy Vulk of Helena, Chris Avery (Shawna) of Seattle, Jennifer Joyner (Tim) of Hamilton and Paul Vulk of Helena; her grandchildren Aimee Muffick (Ron), Jennifer Hollow (Rob), Kim Barry, Lucas Stanley (Adilene), Sydney Barry, Quinn Stanley (Rachael), Malcolm Avery, Avery Joyner, Hannah Petty (Michael), Mark Joyner (Jordan), Madison Kelly, Quin Vulk, Aiden Kelly and Quaid Vulk; plus great and great-great grandchildren.
Also important to Sharon were friends and family Christie Vulk, Mike and Teresa Vulk family and Sue Schaff.
Thank You to Oma's friend Stacy, her doctors at St Peter's, and her nurses of Headwaters Hospice and Palliative Health Care for their compassion and support in helping to care for Oma.
