Shana Goddard(March 14, 1967 - August 23, 2020)Shana Goddard (neé Marker) of Helena, Montana, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the age of 53 with her husband and daughter by her side. Shana was born March 14, 1967 to Gene and Margret Marker. She filled her life with many happy memories, family, and friends. She graduated Deer Lodge High School in 1985. She went on to study Business in Spokane, WA at Kinman Business School, where she graduated in 1986 with a Certificate in Business Administration and later worked towards an Associate of Science in Business Administration in 2013 at Helena College of Technology. While education and doing good work was important in her life, there was one thing that she placed above all else in her life: her faithful lifelong commitment to serve Jehovah God. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 9, 1983 in Billings, MT. Shana was able to extend herself in giving time devoted to preaching the good news of God's kingdom, which she believed in with all her heart. Part of that Kingdom message that she enjoyed so much was the hope of the coming resurrection of the dead back to life here on Earth. This peaceful hope is what enabled her to fight her battle with cancer and be at peace when it was no longer possible for her to fight. Shana went on many adventures throughout her life and most of them were outdoor activities. She enjoyed painting, kayaking, hiking, camping, horseback riding, and traveling to distant or even close places. She never traveled alone. She always had friends or siblings to go on her adventures with. Later, her husband and daughter would join her on those many adventures.Shana Marker married Dennis Goddard on May 29, 1993 in Helena, MT at the Colonial Inn Hotel. They had known each other as friends for many years before deciding to date one another. In the back of their minds, while they waited, they both knew they were the one for each other. Shana and Dennis later welcomed their only child, Selena Goddard, on July 31, 1999. Shana was able to happily enjoy 21 years of adventures and life's ups and downs with her daughter and over 27 years with Dennis. Even when she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in July of 2019, she wanted to continue to have as many adventures as she could while her health would allow. Her love for her God, Jehovah, and her family never faltered. Shana passed away from her year long fight with cancer on August 23, 2020. She was 53. She is survived by her husband, Dennis, and her daughter, Selena. As well as, her parents, Gene and Margaret, her siblings, Louise and Gene Jr., and seven nieces and nephews.
