Ronald (Hoss) Edward Morris of Helena, Montana passed away Monday, June 10th surrounded by his family.  He was 78 years old.

Hoss was born on December 19th, 1945 in Helena, Montana to Edward and Esther Morris.  He attended Helena High School and graduated in 1964.  Hoss was an athlete and participated in high school football and wrestling.  Hoss married his high school sweetheart, Terry Tillo in 1966.   Out of high school he worked for the National Guard.  Hoss wanted to follow in the career of his father and became a fireman with Helena Fire Department.  He worked as a fireman for 28 years and retired as a Battalion Chief.  When Hoss was not working at the fire station, he had a car repair business that you may affectionately know as Hoss's Repair.  He used this business to not only provide excellent automotive care but a way to sometimes bless those who couldn't afford to pay for their repairs.

He was most passionate about his relationship with Jesus and was very involved in youth ministry at Helena First Assembly.  He drove the bus for countless youth retreats, camps, choir tours and other related trips. He would also service and take care of all the church vehicles including fixing the pastor's cars, many times, at his expense. He didn't want the pastoral staff to have to worry about their cars when they were focused on winning the lost. Hoss also took his love for reaching people for Jesus around the world by participating in multiple mission's trips to Mexico, Greece, and Haiti with the church.

Hoss is survived by his wife, Terry Morris of Helena, Montana and his two children Brian Morris and Sarah Morris, Daughter-in-law, Yolanda Morris and his 2 grandchildren Jalen Morris and Mila Munro.

He has one surviving sister, Sharon Kirkness.  He was proceeded in death by both of his parents Edward and Esther and his sister Diana Dickert.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11am at Helena First Church located 2210 Dodge Street, Helena, MT with a lunch following the service.  Pastor Jim Pagels will officiate the ceremony.  All are welcome to attend.  The family has requested donations to Helena First for their building fund, in lieu of flowers.  Those that wish may give online at Helenafirst.com/give.  You will see a designation to Ron "Hoss" Morris Memorial in the drop down.
