Roger Lee Shepherd, 72, Clancy, Montana, passed away on September 5, 2020. A Celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 P.M. at the Kiwanis Pavilion, Lewis and Clark Fairgrounds, 98 West Custer Ave. on Saturday, September the 12, 2020.Roger was born on October 1, 1947, in Havre, Montana, to Neil and Alice Shepherd and was raised on the family farm in Chester, Montana. The family of Roger Lee Shepherd is saddened by the loss of a man that brought so much joy to those that knew and loved him. His heart was always open to those that knew him, as he was an inspiration to the kindness that the human soul has. Peacefully and with family at his side Roger passed away at the age of 72 years old.In April of 1969, Roger married Donna Deering and had three children. Robert was born in August of 1969, Terri in September of 1970, and Lon in November of 1973. After a separation, Roger met Julie Bagley and married Julie in January of 1982, where they created a loving home for their children. Roger was blessed to have two more daughters, Cora who was born in September of 1973 and Megann in February of 1983. In the years that Roger and Julie lived in Shelby, they shared many happy memories together and loved each other in the blessings of raising a family together. They were soul mates that cherished family and friends. In 1992 they moved to Chester, MT. where they ran the family farm together. Together they had 15 grandchildren. With whom and his children he loved to go fishing. A favorite spot for Roger to go was Rock Creek, he smiled every time he talked about going there. Roger and Julie moved to Orofino in 2013, where they created many more happy memories in the peaceful mountains of Idaho. In 2020 they moved back to Montana to be closer with family and friends. Roger and Julie shared 38 wonderful, loving years together where the created a bond of companionship and trust. They have a love that is eternal which ties their souls as one. Roger loved bowling and Hot Rods. He could tell you what make and model a car was by taking one look at it. He enjoyed having dinner with family and always loved his cheesecake. He loved his dog Tucker which he would take for walks. Roger also was a lifetime fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. There were many times that family would gather to watch the game with dad and grandpa. He was a kind and sweet man that always saw the best in people. He always had the best outlook on life and wanted people to be happy.Roger is also survived by Dawn and Scott Lockwood, Wayne and Mary Bagley, Larry Bagley and Donna Johnson, and Tom and Yvonna Bagley. All who would like to attend may come to Roger's Celebration of life gathering. Bring your chairs and stories. The family encourages attendants to bring pictures they would like to share as well as Hot Rods to honor Roger's passion of classic cars.
