Obituary

Roger Edward Mudd, 66, of Helena, Montana passed away on 1/27/22. He was a car enthusiast for most of his life, and loved spending time fixing cars, at car shows, car races, and watching televised races, especially NASCAR...boogity, boogity, boogity! Roger was a member of the Helena Valley Timing Association (HVTA) for many years, and served as president for several years. His love of older cars, especially Oldsmobiles, showed in the fact that he owned 3 of them. He will be missed very much by his family and friends. He is survived by his brother Mike Mudd (Diana Sorensen) of Billings, sister Dianne Green of San Jose CA, sister Debbie (Clark) Spranget of Helena, niece Alicia Red Star (Kevin) of Grand Junction CO, nephew Jon (Jamie) Spranget of Hayden ID, and many, many cousins.Roger liked this quote: "Strive for excellence, exceed yourself, love your friends, speak the truth, practice fidelity, and honor your father and mother. These principles will help you master yourself, make you strong, give you hope, and put you on the path to greatness" - Joe Weider, trainer of champions.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 2 - 5 pm at Nickels Casino in Helena. Roger was a big supporter of the scholarship program through HVTA, and donations can be made by sending a check to HVTA, PO Box 4016, Helena, MT 59604, including in the memo line Roger Memorial scholarship.
