IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Duane
Voytoski
February 16, 1939 – August 1, 2024
Bob passed away peacefully on the morning of August 1st. After suffering a stroke on July 4th, he was in the care of Mount Ascension Transitional Care. Bob was born February 16, 1939 to Stanley and Amelia Voytoski in Great Falls, Montana. Bob attended school in Belt, graduating from high school in 1958. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the US Navy where he served in the Pacific Fleet aboard the USS Rainier-AE5 until his honorable discharge in 1961.
Bob joined the Local #377 Union of Operating Engineers in 1962 and worked as a heavy equipment operator on many jobs around Great Falls and the surrounding areas. The Union sent him to a six-week training program in San Luis Obispo, California in the spring of 1965 and once he returned to Great Falls was employed by Volk Construction.
In 1976 Bob accepted a job as a Business Agent for the Operating Engineers. It was then that he moved his young family to Helena where they purchased acreage and built a new home just west of Helena. In 1991 Bob started his own chamfer and special molding business, Whitewood Molding, where he worked until retirement.
Bob married Sandy Mikkelson in 1964 at the First United Methodist Church in Great Falls. Six years later they were blessed with their first daughter, Michele Sidney and 2 years later Renae Ellen.
Bob was a very skilled craftsman and enjoyed every aspect of woodworking, putting many of his special touches on their new home in Helena. He also enjoyed a variety of woodworking projects for family and friends. Bob was a very talented "handyman" and could build or fix almost anything. He always tried to fix or repair rather than buy new.
In his free time Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and 4-wheeling with his family and friends. He also enjoyed the game of horseshoes and took part in several tournaments around the state.
Bob is preceded in death by his Mother and Father and oldest brother Russell. He is survived by his wife Sandy of East Helena, Montana, two daughters Michele of Rogers, Arkansas and Renae of East Helena, Montana. Brother Michael (Emma) of San Jose, California, sister Patricia and sister-in-law Joanne both of Belt, Montana along with nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place and Bob will be placed to rest in a private family ceremony at the Fort Harrison Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mount Ascension and St Peter's Hospice for the special care Bob received while there.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Bob are suggested to the Lewis & Clark Humane Society or the donor of one's choice. A joint Celebration of Life will be held on October 12th at the Community Church in Belt in honor of Bob and his older brother Russell who passed away on June 21st, 2024. Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
