Obituary

Robert Scrimsher of Jefferson City, Montana passed away in his home surrounded by his family on January 26, 2025. He was 84 years old.

Bob was born on November 21, 1940 in Jerome, Idaho. When he was three years old he was adopted by Tracy "Perle" and Erma Scrimsher. He was the oldest of seven siblings in his adopted family.

Bob worked on several of his family's ranches including Dillion, Harrison, and Big Timber.

He was called to serve in Vietnam and was a proud Veteran.

Upon return home, Bob met his wife Fay VanderVoort in Big Timber, and they were wed on June 2, 1968. The couple welcomed three children into their home.

Bob loved everything outdoors–boating, hunting, fishing and camping were all some of his favorite pastimes. It was not uncommon to find him sitting in his happy place around a large fire or enjoying the sun on his deck with his wife Fay and dog Sunny.

He worked at many jobs during his life. He was a whirlpool repairman, a painter, a lumber mill worker, bus driver and campground host to name a few.

When he retired, he continued his woodworking projects; he always kept himself busy on several creations, his woodworking shop was filled with a constant rotation of his one-of-a-kind creations, which were his pride and joy.

Bob is survived by his wife, Fay of Jefferson City, children Curtis (Christina) Scrimsher of Helena, MT, Kari (Travis) Schuchard, of Harlowton, MT and Julie (Terry) Moore of Frannie WY, his five grandchildren, Elizabeth Scrimsher, Jessica (Darian) Campbell, Cody (Bethelle) Schuchard, Bailey Schuchard, and James Moore, his two great grandchildren, Asher Schuchard and Emily Moore, siblings Alta Lindberg, Tracy Scrimsher, Diane Dempewolf, and Cheryl VanDoren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bert Scrimsher, and sisters, Connie Cox and Florence Jernigan.
