IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Stephen
Holmes
June 18, 1954 – May 7, 2024
Robert Stephen Holmes, 69, traded his earthly home in Boulder, MT for a heavenly one on May 7, 2024. With the love and support of his wife Tina, Rob fought a courageous battle against cancer, but lost the war. Rob is survived by his loving wife, Tina Kruse Holmes, and two children, Alicia (Cliff) Hoisington, and Casi Holmes (Justin Travis), from a previous marriage with Bobbie Holmes. He has six grandchildren – Autumn (Tyrel) Solotky, Caleb (Sadie) Holmes, and Jacob, Matthew, Jeremiah, and Makayla Travis. As a bonus for marrying Tina, Rob became step-father to Ashley Santos (David Siler), and Papa to Emilie, Taliah, Nihko and Vivien. His five great grandchildren are Jameson and Isabella Solotky, and Alaina, Lylah and Michael Holmes. Rob has two living siblings, Sharon Wilson and Scott (Sarah) Holmes, and nephews and nieces, Mark (Katherine) Zuelke, Keith Zuelke, Ryan Wilson, Kellie Wilson, Aaron (Elissa) Holmes and Heidi (Dan) Belatti. He is also survived by many cousins and several great nieces and nephews. Rob was preceded in death by his parents Robert R. and Anna Mae Holmes, sister Donna West, nephew Jae Zuelke, and niece Kylee Wilson.
Rob loved the outdoors, especially fishing in the Missouri River for the next "big one" and hunting elk in the Elkhorn Mountains just outside of Boulder. Rob worked most of his life as an electrician, starting out as a "shop boy" at Allen Electric, and ending his career as a maintenance electrician at Carroll College, a position he often called "the best job I ever had." Rob loved cars, Jeeps, pickups, and motorcycles and owned too many to count over his lifetime. Fun fact - he built his first motorcycle from a bicycle, lawn mower and washing machine parts - really! He eventually bought his Dream Cycle – a Harley Davidson Sportster. Rob will be dearly missed by those who loved him most – his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Catherine's Parish Hall, 214 S. Elder, Boulder, MT, Saturday, May 25 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (rmef.org).
