Obituary

Robert "Bob" E. Casey passed away December 14, 2022 peacefully with his loving wife, Gayle, by his side. After a three-year battle with cancer, he entered heaven under God's welcoming hands.

Bob was born June 18, 1956 in Fallon, Nevada to Helen and Lloyd Casey. The family moved to Montana when Bob was 8 years old and he has made Montana his home since then. He had many jobs in his younger years but excelled at every job he held. He ended his various careers with 25 years at the City of Helena Solid Waste Department. He loved working on cars, small engines and anything that ran, for family and friends.

Bob's true passion was horses. He loved training, raising, riding, team roping and team penning with his dad and brother. One of his happiest moments was winning 1st place in team penning at the East Helena Rodeo. He always cherished his winning buckle.

Bob also dabbled in raising sheep, goats, and ducks to help with the training of his Border Collie dogs over the years. He loved doing anything outside, weather permitting.

Bob met his wife Gayle through the persistence of his best friend. When he called for their first date he actually was going to say, "Thanks, but no thanks. I'm happy being single." But he enjoyed the dinner and the company so much that a little over a year later, on a snowy August 22, 1992, they were married. Their marriage lasted 30 wonderful, happy years. No children came from this union, but their lives were filled with loving family, friends and cherished animals.

Bob is survived by; his wife, Gayle; his sisters; Barbara Chasson, Gail (Jim Brown), Dorothy (Dave Lyght), Janet (Jim Harris), his brothers; Mike (Loni Casey), Cliff, sister-in-law; Kathy (Steve King), mother-in-law; Joan Morello, daughter; Christie Mowry; cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren too numerous to list.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Helena and Lloyd, sisters; Betty, Judy (White), brother; David, and daughter; Kathy Mowry.

A Celebration of Life will take place on June 24, 2023 at the Main Pavilion at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds, starting at noon and continuing until 5 PM. Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.

Bob you are free to ride your horses with dad. Go rest high on the mountain. Love you with all my heart.
