Robert "Bob" Davis, Jr., age 74, of Helena, Montana passed away at home due to medical complications stemming from esophageal cancer.Bob was born to Robert and Doris Davis in Grand Forks, ND. Being the son of a railroad worker meant Bob moved around some as a child. He grew up in Minnesota, the Dakotas and Montana.After high school, Bob served in the Army. After his service, Bob followed his father's footsteps and went to work for the railroad. He worked for Burlington Northern then later Montana Rail Link for 42 years until his retirement in 2007. After his retirement, Bob would often still stop into the depot when he was uptown to say hi.Bob met his wife, Linda, in Helena. They were married in 1976 at the Banks family ranch. Together they raised their daughter, Deena.When Bob was younger, he enjoyed going to the mountains to go hunting or fishing, get firewood, or target shoot. After retiring, Bob liked to go uptown to get coffee and a newspaper, in which he did the crossword puzzle every day.Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, of Helena, daughter, Deena (Steve) Devereaux of Bozeman, and grandson, Eli, as well as his brother, Barry, of Hoyt, Kansas.Bob has chosen to be cremated and have his ashes spread in the mountains where he and his family spent so much time in the past. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
