Randall Green of Helena passed away September 29, 2023, at age 70.

Randall was born April 25, 1953, in Raton, New Mexico. He grew up in Colorado along with his younger brother, Craig. After finishing high school, Randall continued his lifelong pursuits of skiing, ski instructing, rock climbing and cycling, to name a few. He enjoyed these pursuits with his lifelong partner and wife, Theresa, whom he married in 1981 on top of the Bugaboo spire.

Randall spent many years in the construction trade working on high-end custom homes, while getting his degree in Journalism from the University of Montana in 1991. After his first journalism job for the local newspaper in Eureka, Montana, he moved to Helena and worked for Falcon Press. Randall wrote two books, Bugaboo Rock and Idaho Rock, both share his expertise and experience hanging by fingertips in beautiful places.

Randall's legacies are many, but the one the Helena community will be most familiar with, is his professional work in commercial real estate.  Randall was one of the first and few to receive the prestigious, Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation for commercial real estate professionals. Randall has mentored many agents throughout the years, always sharing his knowledge and experience with an open heart.

While concurrently running their business, Randall and Theresa continued their outdoor adventures and involvement in the community. Randall built local climbing walls, introduced climbing to young people by showing them around the Helena area mountains, and was often seen road riding on his bike with his cycling buddies. Once health issues curtailed some of the more rigorous activities, Randall involved himself with the Western Montana Railroad Association, building model replicas of the Montana Railroad system. He also recently picked up the sport of Horseshoe Pitching, and competed in multiple tournaments throughout the state, doing quite well for a late starter onto the scene. Whatever pursuit Randall took on, it was a sure bet that he would show determination and success!

Randall is survived by his wife Theresa of Helena, his brother Craig and his beloved cat Bodhi.

A Celebration of Randall's Life will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 3-5 pm at Stonetree Climbing Center 1222 Bozeman Ave., Helena.
