IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patty
Brewer
July 24, 1947 – September 7, 2024
On the afternoon of September 7, 2024, Patty passed away from cancer. She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family in Helena, Montana. She was 77 years old. Patty was born July 24, 1947 in Kalispell, Montana to Robert and Erma Ridgway. She attended school in Helena and other locations, graduating from Flathead High School in 1965. Patty married Charles Brewer on January 14, 1966 in Helena, Montana and raised their four children in Helena. Patty had a long career working in nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She really loved working in nursing and enjoyed taking care of other people. Patty later cared for children in her home day care. She had her home stocked inside and outside with a great collection of toys and games to entertain any child who visited. Patty maintained long loving and caring relationships with some of the kids she took care of and provided a second home to others.
Patty was talented in so many ways and enjoyed sharing her crafts as gifts, especially her crocheting. She kept a steady supply of yarn on hand. She was a great cook and had a large collection of cook books. She liked to share new recipes she would find. Patty sewed a lot over the years and was frequently called on to mend clothes for others in the family. Patty looked forward to camping and always welcomed receiving fresh fish. Her door was always open to family and friends who would just open the door and yell "hello" to receive a big smile from her and her husband, Charlie. Patty also enjoyed almost daily phone calls to and from her family and friends over the years to keep in touch. As one of the older Ridgway siblings, she usually had some wise advice on almost any topic. Her advice would start with, "what ya do is…". Her advice was usually priceless. Patty enjoyed gatherings and spending time with her siblings. She was known to drive to Kalispell just to go to the movie theater with her sister, Carol. There was no one in the family that could out pack a car as efficiently as Patty could for trips. She packed for every possible situation. She was a great thrift store enthusiast and could scope out a bargain in local stores or where ever she traveled. In her later years, it was common to find Patty at her kitchen table working on a word search book and enjoying the challenge of it. Patty needed and received almost daily help from her spouse, children and family as her health declined over the years. This dedicated support along with the community home care programs allowed her to continue living at home. Patty leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
