Obituary

Patricia Jane Banta was born in May 1935 to George and Neta (Churchill) Banta in Harlem Montana. Her father died when Pat was four, and she grew up with her teacher mother in schoolhouse lodgings at many locations in northern and southeastern Montana. She graduated from High School in Elmwood Wisconsin, then attended American Institute of the Air and the U of M in Minnesota. Pat and Arthur Blade were married at her mother's home in Rock Elm Wisconsin in October 1954.Pat had life long connections with the media industry. She managed advertising sales and production, and was an on-air broadcaster and print columnist at radio stations WEVR and KLYQ, newspapers River Falls (WI) Journal, Ravalli Republic, DillonTribune and The Prairie Star. She and Art ran Chapter One bookstore in Hamilton, and hearing about a college town with no bookstore, moved to Dillon and founded The Bookstore.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George and Robert, and by Arthur, her husband of 63 years. Her descendants are son David and daughter Cynthia; grandchildren Crystal, Alison, Farrahl, Jacob and Kelly; great grandchildren Corinne, Quincy, Jon, Jessie, Jillian, Winter, Maggie, Saddie and Scout.Internment with Arthur will take place at the Montana State Veteran Cemetery, Fort Harrison, in Helena.
