Nancy Wilkins Hargrove, 77, passed away August 1, 2025, after an extended illness.

Nancy was born in Peoria, Illinois, to Gerald and Hattie Sue Wilkins. The young family moved to Wyoming where she graduated from Powell Senior High School.

It was in Cooke City, Montana, that Nancy met Charles Richard "Dick" Hargrove. What began with a lighthearted bet blossomed into a marriage that lasted many years until his passing in 2008.  They began their married life in Germany while Dick served in the military.

They welcomed daughter Bonnie Sue and later made their home in West Yellowstone, where they owned and operated a motel. Nancy and Dick especially enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping.

Nancy was proud of her long career in public service, both in Bozeman and with the State of Montana in Helena, where she earned numerous distinguished service awards recognizing her dedication and commitment.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Sue Linseth; siblings Sallie Wentz, Gerald Robert Wilkins Jr., and Teri (Paul) Drake; sister-in-law JoAnne Murray; and many nieces and nephews.

A family service at a favorite spot in the mountains will be held at a later date.
