It is with sadness that the family of Michelle (Griggs) Courville, announce her passing on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Michelle was 63 years old. Born May 2, 1958 in San Jose, CA, Michelle was the daughter of Kyle and the late Sylvia (Richard) Griggs. Michelle retired from her job as an Administrative Secretary in the Paradise Unified School District in 2013. She moved to Helena in December 2018, after being displaced by the Camp Fire, the wildfire that destroyed the town of Paradise. As a resident of Helena, Michelle quickly found a supportive community at the Hannaford Street Bible Church, where she enjoyed participating in the Bible Study Fellowship and senior outings. She enjoyed her time at the Sewing Palace, socializing and learning how to quilt. Mostly, Michelle adored her grandchildren, spending several months in Philadelphia with Emma and Noah before moving to Helena, where she loved being involved in the daily life of her grand-daughter Samantha; they loved playing Nintendo Switch together in 'Grandma's front room' and doing puzzles. Michelle will be lovingly remembered by her 3 children: Steve (Meg) Hilton of Danville, CA; Brandelle (Josh) Steckel of Philadelphia, PA, and Courtney Courville (Mike Baus) of Helena, MT; 3 grandchildren: Emma Steckel, Noah Steckel, and Samantha Baus; 3 brothers, Kerry Griggs of Yerington, NV, Vince Griggs of Nashville, TN, and Dominic (Jennie) Griggs of Livermore, CA, and 3 sisters, Tia Volkman of Surprise, AZ, Lynn Griggs (Michael Tower) of Canada, Renée (Charley) Russell of Phoenix, AZ, as well as many cousins, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, Michelle was pre-deceased by her sister-in-law Johanna Griggs. In keeping with Michelle's wishes, cremation has taken place. Services will be announced at a later time due to COVID restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michelle may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation (garysinisefoundation.org) or to the charity of one's choice
