Melanie Lynn Ferebee went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, February 17, 2022, after a long fight with several health complications. Her family is grateful she is now free to worship, dance, and run with her loved ones. Melanie was born on February 25, 1963, to Marilyn (Barling) Ferebee and Terry Ferebee in Cody, Wyoming where she was raised and graduated high school. After finishing her higher education, she lived in several communities including Billings and Shelby, MT. Melanie eventually moved to Helena with her son Kevin to be nearer to family. During her years in Helena, she worked in accounting for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as well as the State of Montana. Melanie created a full life in Helena with friends and community that she considered to be her family. "Her people" provided support and encouragement through health challenges and difficult circumstances; Melanie loved and enjoyed time with her community in Helena most of all. Melanie is proceeded in death by both her parents, her son Kevin and her cherished dog, Callie. She is survived by her brother, Russell (Connie) Ferebee, her sister, Anita (Jay) Sherley and her four grandchildren. No services are planned at this time although the family is planning a private internment.
