Obituary

On November 21, 2023, Marlene Cora (Senter) Richeson put on her red hat and danced her way to heaven.

Marlene was born on March 23, 1938, to Harry and Dorothy (Kinney) Senter.

She had a twin sister, Darlene and an older brother, Leroy.

Marlene grew up in Billings and Livingston. She moved to Helena where she enjoyed

a successful business as a dog groomer.

Marlene and Gene Richeson were married for almost 36 years. They traveled to Mexico

for many winters. They loved jazz festivals. Marlene could be seen with her jazz umbrella and snazzy

dress dancing down the streets of Helena during the festivals.

They moved to White Sulphur Springs where Marlene continued grooming dogs.

Together they shared their love for Montana by boating, camping, fishing, hunting and

having a daily soak in the hot springs.

Marlene started the Red Hat Society and recruited many to attend the gatherings. She loved

playing cards, dice, sharing dinners, ODO, cooking and entertaining friends. She loved her friends of

which she had many. She loved her community and her friends. She truly never met a stranger.

Marlene loved her family, her children, her sibling's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was proud of all of them.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, sister Darlene, brother Leroy,  grandson

Michael, and stepsons Robert, Danny and David Richeson.

Marlene is survived by her children: Carlyle (Harley), Peggy (Steve), Sue ( Bobby), Richard (Melanie),

Philip (Robyn), and Christie (Mike), several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain View Medical Center. We are forever grateful for the

care given to Marlene at the end of her life.

A celebration of life will be held in White Sulphur Springs on March 23. Place and time to be announced

at a later date.
