It is with much sadness that our beautiful Mother, Mickie started her next journey to Heaven. Marilyn (Mickie) Elaine Ekman let go of her earthly life on November 25, 2022. She has been living with Alzheimer's for many years and is finally at peace.

Mom was born on July 14, 1935. She was the second youngest child out of 10 born to Alvilda and Ole John Mickelson in Aitkin,MN.

She will now be with the rest of her siblings and her loving parents.

Mom was married to John Ekman Sr. and they had 4 children. They later divorced but remained friends until his death in June 2001.

Mother worked for Mountain Bell for many years and made several lifelong friends.

Throughout mom's life she touched so many people with her loving and gentle spirit. She was active in helping others learn the art of Reiki and Hands on Healing. Mom was wise beyond her years and always wanted to learn more. Her greatest joy were all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves behind her daughters Linda (Jim) Himmel, Bokeelia, Fl, Debbie Davis Helena, Barbara (Bruce) Knutson Helena. Grandchildren Aimee (Ron) Muffick, Jennifer (Rob) Hollow, Nolan Davis, Eric (Julie) Ekman, Sarah (Bruce) Mjelde. Ben, Krist and Chelsey Knutson (Helena)-17 great-grandchildren, and her wonderful friends Carol Bridge, Karmel Duffy and Eden Bozman. Mom was close to several nieces and a nephew all in MN and  AZ.

Mother will be joining in Heaven her son John Ekman Jr., ex-husband John Ekman, Bob Davis (son in law),her parents and her 9 siblings.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.

We would like to thank Renaissance Memory Care and their entire staff for taking such good care of Mom, and loving her the last six weeks.

Thank you mom for being such an amazing roll model for us all. Your gentle spirit and love will stay with us all forever. We all love and miss you so much!
