IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Madeline
Romero
March 14, 1942 – February 21, 2026
Celebration of Life
DoubleTree by Hilton
Starts at 1:00 pm (Mountain time)
Our beautiful, loving, sassy, mama and grandma, Madeline Romero passed away in Helena on February 21, 2026. She was 83 years old.
Our mom was born March 14, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. She was one of seven children. She married our dad, James Romero Sr, when they were just 16 years of age. They were married for 32 years. They divorced and she never remarried.
Together they had seven children. Mom was a homemaker for most of her life, and at times running an in-home daycare. She loved having children around her all the time. For mom, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She loved to make her famous enchiladas and teach the kids to dance! Anyone who knew her, knew her love for family, cooking, dancing and her Cumbia music. She will be dearly missed by all of us.
Madeline is survived by her children, Eddie Romero (Christine) of Pahrump, NV; Jimmy Romero Jr., Missoula, MT; Eric Romero Phoenix, AZ; Natalie Erickson Helena, MT; Lisa Romero Chesapeake Beach, MD; Sharee Neary-Romero Helena, MT; and Chris Romero Helena, MT; and her 20 grandkids and 18 great-grandchildren.
Madeline is proceeded in death by her parents, Jesse Estrada and Alice Collins, her aunt Sarah, and her cousin Eddie.
Mom believed all children should have plenty of toys. We ask that in memory of our mom, any memorial contributions can be donated to Toys for Tots or The Friendship Center. Her celebration of life will be held on March 14th 1 pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the banquet room, reception immediately following service. There will be a block of rooms under Madeline Romero for those who are coming from out of town.
"She is dancing with Jesus now, We will miss you Mama.”
