IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois B.
Ennis
July 15, 1935 – January 13, 2026
Lois Belle Ennis went home to be with Jesus in the early hours of January 13, 2026.
Lois was born on July 15, 1935, in Arkansas to Leonard and Elda Singleton, where she was also raised. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Elda Singleton; her sisters, Dixie and Ruth; her brother, Floyd; her son, Leonard “Bub” Ennis; and her great-grandson, Isaiah.
She is survived by her brother, Gary; her daughter, Iris “Sis”; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois was married for 20 years and had two children, Iris and Leonard, affectionately known as Sis and Bub. They were raised in East Helena, Montana. Lois was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother.
Iris has four children and eight grandchildren. Leonard and his wife, Deborah Ennis, had two children, Amanda Ennis-Johnson-Gohn and Jesse Ennis. Amanda is the mother of Jasmyn Johnson.
Lois worked for the State of Montana until her retirement. She was employed by Social and Rehabilitative Services (later known as Health and Human Services) and also worked part-time for many years conducting phone surveys for Crop and Livestock and for Fish, Wildlife & Parks. Her work with Fish, Wildlife & Parks was once recognized in Montana Outdoors magazine. Through her career, Lois met many people and formed countless connections. She was truly a people person and especially loved visiting with others and talking on the phone.
Lois remained active throughout her life and was deeply involved with her church, church camps, and retreats. She enjoyed garage sales in search of bargains, traveling, babysitting for family and friends, and faithfully attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Her love for faith and community will be missed.
