IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Len Thomas
Johnson
December 10, 1955 – July 4, 2025
Len Thomas Johnson passed away peacefully at his home in Helena, Montana, on July 4, 2025, surrounded by those he loved. He was 69 years old.
Len was born on December 10, 1955, in Cut Bank, Montana, to Glen Thomas Johnson and Consuello Larsen. A proud Montanan through and through, he was raised in Helena and graduated from Helena High School in 1975. Shortly after graduation, Len enlisted in the United States Navy, serving four years aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. His military service took him across the globe, fueling his deep and abiding love for country, adventure, and duty.
Following his time in the Navy, Len worked in Antarctica before returning home to Montana to be near his family. A talented craftsman, he spent many years in construction, even building his own home—a testament to his skill and dedication. He later served at the Capitol Complex in Helena, maintaining generators and boilers with his signature precision and care. Known for his perfectionism and passion for fixing anything and everything, Len was always the one people turned to when something needed to be done right.
Len had a deep appreciation for classic muscle cars, the thrill of riding his Harley, and the unmatched beauty of Montana's open roads. His unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the cornerstone of his life. He longed for his family and loved ones to walk in faith as he did, and he carried that hope close to his heart every day.
Above all, Len loved his family and cherished time spent with close friends Bonnie and Wayne, and Kelly and Lonnie. He had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets—Enzo, Tez, and Baby Girl Mira—who knew him lovingly as "Grandpa."
Len is survived by his devoted wife, Lori Johnson; his sons, Dustin and Cameron Johnson; and stepson, Harley Carlson. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Chris Johnson, his beloved sister, Terri McLaughlin, and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Consuello.
A celebration of Len's life will be held at 11:00 AM on August 8, 2025, at Echo Church, 2210 Dodge Ave., Helena, Montana, with a reception to follow.
Len will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his loyalty, faith, and unwavering integrity.
