Kenneth Dale Abrahamson of Helena, MT passed away on January 11, 2025. He was 89 years old. Ken had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand especially if it involved construction projects. He enjoyed square dancing, the outdoors, reading mysteries, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ken was born on August 22, 1935 in Seattle, WA to Wallace and Inez Abrahamson. He had an older brother Dennis. He graduated from Ballard High School in Seattle, WA. He joined the Army in 1956. In the Army he attended The Signal School at Fort Monmouth, NJ where he learned to fix and maintain station equipment. He was stationed in Alaska. Durning his time in Alaska, he assisted in locating the Russian Satellite "Sputnik." While in the Army he also received a Good Conduct Medal and obtained the rank of sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge.

After his time in the Army, he went to work for IBM as a systems engineer. He moved to Helena with IBM in 1961. It was during that time, he met Rose "Penny" Walker and they were married on January 20, 1962. They had four sons. He retired from IBM after 36 years of service. Ken and Rose were married for over 62 years at the time of his passing.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis, his sister -in-law Dianne, and niece Laurie. He is survived by his wife Rose, his four sons David (Michelle), James (Nicole), Gary (Ann), and Michael (Wendi), three grandchildren Jordin (Fiancé James), Mikaela (Brandon) Uhl, Kevin (Lesya) Abrahamson, four great grandchildren Sofia, Ben, Ryan, and Dawson Uhl. He is also survived by his niece Karen (Louie) and their family, and his niece Nancy and her family.

An internment ceremony with military honors will be held on January 24, 2025 at Fort Harrison Cemetery
