Mrs. Kathy Ann Young, age 73, of Helena, died in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 13, 2026, after an illness.

Kathy was born in Malta, Montana on April 4, 1952, to Robert and Doris (Armington) Munroe. She loved visiting her grandparents, Alma and John “Dutch” Armington at their ranch south of Malta at Sun Prairie. Kathy always had a special relationship with her grandma, Alma.

Kathy attended schools in Fort Peck, Malta, Great Falls and Anaconda. She graduated Anaconda Central in 1970 and then attended Ethels Beauty School graduating as a licensed cosmetologist.

Kathy married the love of her life, Dennis Young, on August 11, 1977. They worked and lived on a farm and ranch north of Dodson, raising 5 kids. They later moved to the Great Falls area.

She loved her family and spending time with them. Kathy loved every minute of raising her family and was always there with a hug, an ear or a homecooked meal. She would always leave a light on in the kitchen.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Doris Trotter and Robert Munroe and her daughter Jolene Young.

Kathy leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Dennis Young; her daughters Brandee (Gary) Noll, Tanya (Richard) Huston, Rhonda (Dave) Cordice, Toni Young, and her son Clinton (Keely) Young; her sister, Patricia "Punky" Munroe; her brothers Dale Trotter and Mike (Katie) Trotter.  She is survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

We will all love and will miss her so very much---Fly high with the angels.

A celebration of life will be held this summer.
