IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jorill "Jo"
Jewett
April 17, 1952 – February 24, 2025
Jo Rill (Davis) Jewett was born April 17, 1952 in Townsend, Montana to Bill and Hope Davis. At the age of five, the family moved to Walden, Colorado where they resided for 10 years. Bill and Hope published the Jackson County Star. In 1967 the family moved back to Montana and Jo Rill completed her education in Bozeman and Three Forks, graduating from Three Forks High School in 1970.
Jo Rill was employed at the Three Forks Herald following graduation where she remained until her marriage to Jim Jewett on February 7, 1986. She and Jim resided in both Livingston and Willow Creek the first year of their marriage, Livingston during the week and Willow Creek on weekends while Jim was employed by the Montana Department of Transportation. The second year of their marriage, they purchased the Three Forks Herald, built a home in Three Forks and welcomed their beautiful daughter, Hallie Kay. Jim remained with the Department of Transportation until December of 2007. After his retirement, he also helped publish the Herald. The Jewetts sold the Herald in 2013 and began a very enjoyable retirement.
Jo Rill had great faith in her Lord and Savior and was a confirmed member of the United Methodist Church. She served as choir director and pianist for many years and taught Sunday school and youth fellowship.
Jo Rill loved gardening, music, Bible study groups, reading, camping and traveling - especially to visit her daughter and son-in-law in Colorado. She also enjoyed Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. She was an avid sports fan, her favorite teams being the Cleveland Indians in baseball, any team Tom Brady played with in football and Gonzaga and Kansas Jayhawks in college basketball.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kay and two brothers Bobby and Jim. She is survived by her husband, Jim, daughter and son-in-law, Hallie Kay and Brad McLaughlin, three nephews, Bill (Dane) Davis, Tyler Davis and Jacob Davis, and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church annex in Three Forks on April 19th at two o'clock in the afternoon following a private family interment at the Willow Creek Cemetery.
