IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Madison
Finch V
March 2, 1959 – December 9, 2023
John Madison Finch V, 64, of Helena passed away on December 9, 2023. He was born on March 2, 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee to John Finch and Lois Jean Riley.
After his parents divorce John spent time bouncing back and forth from mom to dad. Ultimately landing in East Helena where he would grow up raised by his dad and step mother Carol. John had a son John Madison Finch VI in 1980. Later John married Linda Hogan, she brought a son into Johns life. His name was also John but everyone called him Jay or Jay Jay. In 1986 John and Linda brought a son into the world, Micheal, and in 1988 a little girl named Morgen. John and Linda later divorced.
John loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles, he loved working on Harley Davidson motorcycles, because everyone knows that to ride them you have to work on them. It didn't matter the weather, you'd see him riding to Jesters in 15 degree weather. He also loved to play the guitar. It didn't matter if it was acoustic or electric. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his seven grandchildren. Watching them grow was his newfound passion.
He fought a long hard battle with lung cancer that metastasized to his brain. The family would like to thank the cancer team at St Peters Hospital. Especially the nurses who spent countless hours with John during his fight.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother Terry Finch, father John Finch IV, mother Carol Finch. He is survived by sons John Finch (Woodward, OK), Micheal Finch(Bettani), and Jay Foster. Step son Jordan Carey. Daughter Morgen Tompkins(Bryan). Grandchildren, Brandon DeMers, Gaige Kelly, Austin Tompkins, Jaxson Tompkins, Timber Tompkins, Tyler Tompkins, and Ainsley Finch. As well as special friends Del Wing and Reese St. Germaine
The family will have a gathering in the spring time to celebrate the life and legacy of John. It will be done when it is warm enough for his riding buddies to all ride their Harleys. Per his wishes his ashes will be spread at the Sturgis Biker Rally.
Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
