Jennette Louise McCallum Mitchell, 79, died in Helena, MT, on February 11, 2022, surrounded by herfamily.Jennette was born June 13, 1942, in Norris, MT, to Kenneth Edwin McCallum and Elizabeth (Beth)Margaret Baker McCallum. She joined her older sisters Dolly (Elizabeth) and Florence. The family waslater completed with the addition of two more siblings, Doris and Keith. Her early childhood was spenton family ranches near McAllister, MT. She and her two older sisters attended a little one-room schoolat McAllister. They walked to and from school until McAllister consolidated with Ennis Public Schoolswhen she was in the second grade. In 1960 she graduated from Ennis High School.During the summer of 1960, she met Leal Mitchell of Lemmon, SD. They were married October 4, 1960,and spent their married life in Norris where they raised three children - two sons and a daughter.Jennette was a stay-at-home mom and kept busy raising her children and working on the family farm.In 2005 they divorced, and she moved to Bozeman. In 2012 she moved to Wasilla, Alaska, to be close toher daughter, Kathy. Jennette very much enjoyed her time in Alaska. In July of 2021 she moved back toMontana to be close to her son, Cody, and brother, Keith in Helena. Jennette suffered from kidneydisease for most of her adult life. In mid-December she contracted COVID and succumbed tocomplications of kidney disease and high blood pressure on February 11.Jennette is survived by her children: Cody (Susan) Mitchell of Helena, Roy Mitchell of Cold Harbor, ND,and Kathleen (Jon) Himelspach of Spring Creek, NV; grandchildren, Garett (Lacey) Mitchell, ShaneMitchell, Daniel McLain, Andrew McLain, Alicia (Mike) Bell, Brittany (Kyle) Marion, Courtney Mitchell,Stephen Ward, Ashton (Steven) Vail, Rebecca Himelspach, and Joe Himelspach. She was also very proudof her great grandchildren Mason, Miles, Morgan, Maverick, and Addison Bell; Ryleigh Marion; andDarren and Jaxson Vail. She is also survived by her sister Doris (Lloyd) Baker-Ryen of Bozeman, and brother Keith (Dawn) McCallum of Helena, as well as a passel of cousins, nieces and nephews.Jennette was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, sisters (Dolly) Elizabeth Wood andFlorence McCallum, many of her Aunts and Uncles and her beloved daughter-in-law Debbie Mitchell.There will be no services at this time.
