Jay Merritt passed away at his home on January 28, 2023 at the age of 80. He was born on the ranch and died on the ranch which was his final wish. He is now at peace with Sharon whom he had missed so much the last year. Jay was born and raised in Helena and loved the area growing up hunting and fishing which he did up until the last couple of years. He had numerous jobs over the years in several states but always came back to his home in Helena which he was so proud of.

He is survived by sons Shane and Kim Merritt, Golden Valley Arizona and Shawn Merritt, Whitehall Montana, Grandson Coty and Breanna Merritt, Great Falls Montana and his two little loves Great granddaughters Kynzlee and Avery Merritt.  Sister Judy Johnson of Helena.

Thank you to all of his family and friends that helped care of Jay over the last year. A get together is being planned for the summer months to honor both Jay and Sharon.
