Janice Teale, 73, of Helena, Montana, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, after her 3½-year battle with cancer. She was born on May 21,1952, in Pasadena, California, to Erlene Dorothy and Donald Dean Mielke.

She lived her first 69 years in California, where she was known for her love of singing, playing piano, crafting, sewing, and laughter. She spent many years working as both a waitress and a caregiver, where her kindness and humor touched countless lives. In her later years, she made her home in Helena, Montana, where she found joy in community, singing, friendship, and the beauty of the mountains.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erlene and Donald Mielke, and her brother, Dennis Dean Mielke. She is survived by her three children: Ryan Teale and his daughters Emery and Ainsleigh; Carla Cisneros and her children Lucia, Ché, and Joaquin; and Lauren Rowerdink and her daughters Elena, Lael, and Caroline.

She will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her delicious cooking and baking, and the way she could so often be the life of the party.
