Janice Marie Matye, age 75, of Helena passed away on October 31, 2025.

She was born February 23, 1950, in Havre, MT to Robert Campaigne and Elizabeth Anderson.  Janice was raised by Robert and Rose Champaigne in Great Falls, MT.

On December 29, 1970, she married Thomas Matye and together they raised their son Eric on the Willow Rounds Ranch on the beautiful Marias River.

In 1994, they adopted their daughter Shelby and raised her in Great Falls, MT.

Janice loved playing cards, listening to Elvis, laughing and joking with her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert (Rose) Champaigne, her mother Elizabeth the Boy, husband Thomas Matye, grandson Joseph Conger, brother-in-law, Edward Matye and dear friends, Robert and Joan Layne.

She is survived by her son Eric (Theresa) Matye, Helena, MT; daughter Shelby Matye, Great Falls, MT; grandchildren, Amber, Helena, MT; Jason, Great Falls, MT; Wyatt, Great Falls, MT; and Ali, Helena, MT; sister-in-law, Grace Matye, Great Falls, MT; nieces and nephews, Rick (Sheila) Matye, Great Falls, MT;  Kayle (Kayla) Matye, Hastings, MN; Cade (Taylor) (Kendall) Matye, Great Falls, MT; Chas (Cassie) Matye, Great Falls, MT; "Adopted Children" Hyland and Teresa Layne, Valier, MT.

The family will have a private service.

Simple Cremation Montana has assisted the family.
