James Dannie Slayton II or as we all know him "J.D." passed away from natural causes at the age of 59 in the presence of his wonderful wife on May 13th 2025 in Helena MT. He was born April 6th, 1966, to James Slayton "Jim" and Jo Etta Slayton "Jo" in Chandler, Arizona.  When J.D. was 24 years old, he met the love of his life, Tammy.   They were married in 1990. They quickly became a family of 5 as J.D. loved his new children Danielle, Jana, and Joshua as though they were his own. In the years to follow J.D. and Tammy would have 2 more children together, Dannie and Mercede to complete their family. They had a combined family of 5 children. James enjoyed so many things in and about life. The physical things like arts, crafting the most beautiful furniture, building things with his own two hands. We described him often as a "jack of all trades" because there wasn't a thing this man couldn't learn, repair, or build. Then there was the things the made him think. Sciences, the stars, the universe, and what made things work. He would have learned about it all if he had the chance.  Above all nothing meant more to J.D. than his family. May 13th the world lost one if its greatest. A husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend and sooo much more. J.D. meant so much to so many people and putting a man like him into words feels impossible.  He was a loving husband of over 30 years, a father who loved and cared for us so much and was always there, a grandfather who loved every meaning of the word.  Our hearts are shattered.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Jodi Slayton, brother DannySlayton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Tammy Slayton. Daughters Danielle, Jana, and Mercede. Son Dannie (Tarin), Joshua and numerous grandchildren that made him his favorite role in life, the best papa. He was blessed to also have many aunts and cousins to support him through his journey in life as well.  He will be deeply missed.
