James Granbery of Helena, MT passed away at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena on December 2, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. He was fully vaccinated but had underlying health issues that contributed to his recent decline and death. He was 69 years old.James was born on July 14, 1952 in Kilgore, TX to Ralph and Verna Jo (Horton) Granbery. He joined sister Betty Jo who was 20 months older. James, known as Bubba within his family, attended Kilgore Public Schools, eventually in their first ever special education program. James dealt with intellectual and mental disabilities throughout his life with a cheerful attitude and persevering spirit. He was well served by Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries in Bossier City, LA and Spring Meadow Resources in Helena, MT. He most recently resided at Elkhorn Health and Rehabilitation, Clancy, MT.James is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, many aunts and uncles and several cousins. He is survived by his sister, Betty Jo (BJ) Granbery of Helena, MT; one aunt, Pat Kromer of Tyler, TX; and many cousins, mostly in East Texas.No services are planned at this time. Cremation has taken place and burial of cremains will be in the spring in East Texas.
