Obituary

Ian Worth Earl of Helena, MT passed away at his place of residence on June 15, 2026 due to natural causes. He was 67 years old.

Ian was born on August 19, 1958 in Cardston, AB, Canada to Worth and Ethel Earl along with his five siblings. He spent his days on the ball-headed prairie hunting, camping and causing mischief with his siblings. Ian pursued schooling in the trades and became a master automotive technician, receiving his ASE Master Mechanic certification. Through his adult life he was married to Roxanne Nielsen, Karen Miller, and Susan Lind. He supported his family through a variety of employment, primarily as a mechanic and later as a bus driver and truck driver. At the time of his death he worked as a salesman and delivery driver. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints his entire life and was a member of the priesthood. His time at home with his children was filled with building treehouses, gardening, shooting guns, sharpening knives, and watching movies with a bowl of caramel popcorn, though he might rarely be awake for the whole movie. He was very creative and excellent with his hands, always spending time on crafting projects made out of a wide variety of products to include wood, animal byproducts, beads, and so many more. There was always a new project to start. Every story he told was always accompanied by a wide range of sound effects and hand gestures.

Ian is survived by his siblings; Dave, Tom, Esther, Rick, and Bruce, all living in Alberta. He is also survived by his biological children Jesse and Tammy, who live in Alberta, and Timothy, located in Montana. Along with his biological children, he is also survived by Susan’s children Angela, living in Arizona, Rachel in Idaho, and Stephanie in Montana, who he claimed as well. Among these children Ian was blessed with 19 grandchildren that called him Papa.
