Obituary

On Sunday, May 26, 2024, our beloved super mom Heather Anne Harrington, and best friend died unexpectedly of a heart attack. Mom was born on April 21, 1978, in Great Falls, to Barb (Kessner) and Dave Harrington. She was their only bundle of joy. She was raised for a time in Great Falls and then she and grandma moved to Choteau.

Mom loved Choteau and called it her forever home. She graduated from Choteau High school in 1996.  After graduation mom moved to Great Falls and then eventually to Helena and worked for a number of places taking her eldest son Branden with her.  Austin and Megan joined the family while she resided in Georgia. Heather enlisted in the Army in2008, out of Pearl Harbor Hawaii.

She graduated from basic training in St Louis Missouri, and then was sent to Fort Sam Houston TX for her (AIT) as an 68K (Medical Lab Specialist). After serving 4 years, 7 months, and 27 days, Mom was honorably medically discharged in February 2013.

Then the four of us and Tanner loaded up the U-Haul and made our way to Helena, MT to be greeted by Aunt Patty.

She studied at Brooke Medical Center from 2009 until February 2013as on the job training, also studied Clinical Lab at George Washington University class of 2010. To further her education and training' Mom went to work for St. Peter's Health April 13, 2013, until November 14, 2021.

While wanting to further advance herself Mom, continued working full time, was a hands-on full-time mom to 3 teenagers, and studied online at Weber State University for two years graduating with a bachelor's degree as a Clinical Lab Scientist.

After receiving her degree Mom accepted a job at Benefis Health Systems in Choteau as a Clinical laboratory Scientist. She worked at Benefis from November 15, 2021, until the time of her passing.

She was not only our incredible loving mom but also our best friend. We had so much fun traveling to country concerts, target shooting, (Mom was the best), enjoying the great outdoors of Montana, Jeeping in the hills, paddle boarding, binge-watching our favorite movies wrapped in blankets, camping, enjoying the fire pit with our friends, who were welcome anytime.

Our Mom was the cool mom for sure. Mom loved her pitties which were her pride and joy. She would have adopted all of them if she could have. She was a proud member of the Montana Pittie Project (MPP). She rescued two dogs from the MPP, our two house hippos Ziva and JoJo. Big brother Tanner just took it all in and barked when they got out of control. Sadly, Luna passed in June 2023 and is missed dearly.

Mom was always a truck person but until recently she became the Montana Jeep girl. She just recently bought her second "dream" Jeep named "Liberty". She was just starting to deck it out at the time of her passing. We will definitely do that for you Mom and take good care of her. That's a promise we will keep.

Mom is survived by her kids, Branden, Austin (wife Sierra), Megan, Aunt Patty Kessner, half-sister Jessie Lee, uncles, and many cousins, an abundance of incredible friends who loved mom dearly as well as many co-workers who will miss her deeply. Not forgetting her beloved pitties, Tanner, Ziva, JoJo, and Boomer who are still looking for her.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents Barb (Kessner) and Dave Harrington, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. If we have forgotten anyone, our sincere apologies.

Also, a big thank you to all the Law enforcement, doctors, nurses, ER staff, and paramedics/ambulance crew. Although it's not the outcome we hoped for, we were appreciative of your efforts to save our Mom.

Mom, we all love you dearly now and forever. Our lives will never be the same without you. You have more than earned your angel wings. Your love and spirit will live on.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. We will update onour Facebook pages for date and location.
