Clevenger
March 13, 1926 – February 25, 2022
Glenn LaRue Clevenger of Helena Montana died in his home on February 25, 2022. He was 95 years of age.
Glenn was born on March 13, 1926 in what is now the ghost town of Fort Union Montana. (His brother Clarence was born a couple years earlier at the same location but his birth certificate listed the location as Mondak, North Dakota) His parents Francis and Mabel ran the post office and general store.
In his early teenage years his parents moved the family to Billings, Montana.
When Glenn was 18 he joined the army and served in the Philippines and Japan for a little over two years. When he returned to Billings he attended Rocky Mountain college.
He began a career in construction as a carpenter. After several jobs working for various contractors he moved to Helena Montana and there he met his wife Beverly. They were married for 66 years. Beverly still resides in Helena Montana.
After working for Waddell construction for several years, himself and Ty Ingram created a construction company, Ingram Clevenger, Inc., which operated in Helena for several decades.
Glenn & Bev enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, and for a time they liked to snowmobile.
Glenn was a very kind and gentle man and was loved by everyone. He will be sorely missed.
Glenn is survived by his wife Beverly, their children Cheryll (deceased) and Keith, their grandchildren Cory, Amanda, Taryn and Ray. Great grandchildren Christopher, Elyjah, Preston, Evie, Tyler and Ashley.
