Celebrating Life and SpiritFriday, February 18th 2022 - 02:00 PM - Helena Valley Faith Center - 708 E Groschell St, East Helena, MT 59635In the afternoon of Friday, February 11, Gary Dean Summers was called to his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Gary was born in Great Falls, Montana on December 28, 1938 to John Summers and Frances (Turner) Summers. He joined an older brother and soon another brother and sister were added to the family. After the death of his father in Germany during WWII, the family moved to Helena where Gary received the blessing of a wonderful stepfather, Sam Harris, who taught him to hunt and fish, activities he enjoyed his entire life. Another sister was added at this time. Gary married Cynthia Krause on April 24, 1970. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 until 1961 and remained very proud of his service. He worked at many professions during his lifetime including working at Foleys Mill, Dairyland Wholesale, as a ranch hand and finally finding his calling to be a car salesman where he first sold Fords and Toyotas, then Chevys and finally Buicks and Hondas. He was known for his honesty and respect for people he dealt with and most of all for his very big, generous heart. Many people were the recipients of his generosity through the years. He was a faithful caretaker for his wife during the last twenty years. After retirement, he spent many hours each week gathering donated food from various businesses and delivering it to Gods' Love. This was a charity dear to his heart. Gary was preceded in death by his son (Gary Dean, Jr.), father, mother, stepfather, and brother, Jon. He is survived by his wife Cindy, brother Bill (Myrna), sisters Shirley Chovanak (Michael) and Joy Gilford (Doug), and numerous nephews and nieces, whom he adored. (Tim, Kit, Courtney, Adam, Casey, Jon, Bill and Bob). Gary had a big, big heart and will be missed by all who knew him.
