Wednesday October 20, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones, Gary C. Silverthorne passed away peacefully and without pain. Gary was born in Butte Montana June 7, 1967, and was the oldest of four. Gary was raised in Helena, Lincoln and Ronan and after serving aboard the USS Missouri, Gary returned to Helena and raised his family. Gary enjoyed working in the restaurant business and was most proud when he was part owner of a local restaurant. Gary is preceded in death by parents James Silverthorne and Patricia McKnight. Gary is survived by his spouse Anita Close, two daughters Nichole and Tanya Silverthorne and the youngest, his son, Sonny Silverthorne. Gary is survived by his siblings Sonny Silverthorne, Joe (Angel) Silverthorne and sister Lorena Silverthorne. Other surviving relatives include two children Kent and Brittany, half brother Rich (Rhonda) McLean, brother and sister in-law Kelly and Angela (Close) Blixt and father in-law William E. Close. Gary will be missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and many many close friends. Gary has suffered with severe pain the last few years and although suffering, Gary always made sure to talk and spend time with loved ones and friends, and those who knew Gary, know Gary was never shy of expressing his feelings. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for November 5th, 2021, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Service Club, located at Fort Harrison in Helena Mt.
