Freda Jane Clifton (Henry) of Quail, Texas, and most recently of Helena, Montana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the age of 96. Freda was born on March 28, 1925 to Fredrick and Virginia Henry in Quail, Texas. Freda married Leonard Clifton, an Army engineer and after the end of WWII they moved to California where they had two children, Cheryl and Linda. After raising her two children Freda made her home in Montana where she worked as a legal secretary. In 1977 Freda heard God calling her to serve Him as a missionary. She first attended a Bible school in Long Beach, California and then went to be a missionary in Hermosillo, Mexico. In 1985 Freda returned to Montana but quickly found an opportunity to spend a summer in Canada's back country as an ordained minister serving the Indigenous People around Tuner Lake, Saskatchewan. Freda's heart was never far from the mission field. For the next few years she helped her church plan and establish a missionary outreach to northern Alberta, Canada. Before she could return there herself, she was approached about an opportunity to run a children's home in Mexico. In short order Freda and her daughter Linda left Montana and headed for Mexico where they spent 31 years providing a home for children and caring for their needs. In late 2021 Freda moved back to Montana with her daughter Linda to be near to her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. Freda will be remembered as a loving and faithful servant who was always excited to share the love of Jesus with everyone.Freda is survived by her daughter Linda Richards; her grandchildren Doug Davis, Nathan Davis, Laura Boltz, Tobby Richards, Jordan Reaves; and her siblings Barbara Duncan, Carolyn Massey, Gwendolyn Marschal, Guyman Henry, and Jerry Henry.
