Erwin "Neil" Tyree 83 passed away at home in Helena, MT on February 27th, 2025.
Neil was born Feb 22,1942 in Pomona, CA to Francis and Constantine Tyree.
The family later moved to Nevada. He served in the Marines from 1959-1962. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
He met Virginia "Anne" Monroe when he was 4 and she was 3 in Sloan, NV. They were married August 7th,1963 in Las Vegas, NV. They were married for 61 years and have two sons, Tim and Greg.
He worked at the Atomic Energy Commission Test Site in Nevada. He later worked as an electrical apprentice for Young Electric Sign Company in Las Vegas. In the early 70's he moved his family to Green River, WY and he worked as an electrician for Jim Bridger Power Plant. In 1982 he was elected as the business manager for IBEW Local 322 and the family moved to Casper, WY. He was later appointed as the International Representative for the 8th District of IBEW. He and his wife moved to Helena, MT. He retired in 2004.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at their home on Hauser Lake. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; sons Tim (Kim), and Greg (Tami); grandchildren Jacob (Kaitlyn), Trevor (Abby), Brayden (Aurora), Gracie (Jackson), Haylee, Kaden, and Kennedy; and great grandchildren Elric and Cameron; sister Nadine Patterson and Trillie Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lionel.
Private military service will be held at a later time at Fort Harrison.
