Ed Ereth, age 78, cashed in all his chips on December 6, 2022. Ed was born on December 6, 1944 as the 5th of 14 children to August and Rose (Leingang) Ereth in Mandan, North Dakota.

Ed was hardworking, fun-loving, and independent. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends recounting many adventurous stories about his experiences. Many of them were about working in the construction trade with his brothers and friends in North Dakota, Montana, Washington, and California.

He was an avid sports fan following the Mariners and Seahawks in Seattle where he lived the last 35 years of his life most of which was spent with his beloved "Darlin" Bonnie Smith.

When younger, Ed was an excellent boxer participating in the Golden Gloves program achieving great success.

Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons when they were boys teaching them how to become outdoorsmen on their own. He also had many entertaining hunting stories from Montana and North Dakota.

In later years, he thoroughly enjoyed meeting his buddies down at the casino for happy hour beers.

He is survived by Bonnie Smith of Renton, his two sons Ed (Trina) and Steve (Jamey); grandchildren, Keenan, Pyper, Seth and Emiley all of Helena; Hilary of Denver and Quincey of Bozeman; brothers Vern, Dennis (Vonnie), Gus (Sharry), Roy (Lori), Paul, and Terry (Sandy) Ereth; sisters Linda (Ben) Schafer, Margaret (Tim) Schell, and Lora (Joel) Pfenning; sisters-in-law Rosie, Lois, and Carrol Ereth. He also had a special place in his heart for his niece Sandy (John) Waddell of Clancy. There are also many other nieces and nephews that adored their "Uncle Eddy". He was preceded in death by his parents August and Rose (Leingang) Ereth, brothers Ray, Don and Jerry Ereth, sister Marlene Bergum, nieces Deb and Jo, nephew Jason, and sister-in-law Billie.

A celebration and burial will take place later this spring/summer in Mandan.
