Donald Gene Bergman, 84, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at his home in Townsend, Montana, with his wife, Trina Bergman, by his side. Don was born on January 2, 1941, in Cass County, North Dakota, to Kenneth and Shirley Bergman. Don grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a strong sense of family. After moving from Denver, Colorado, he spent much of his life in Washington State and worked as an engineer for Weyerhaeuser Co. and Fibre Wood Mill. Don was an adventurous spirit who loved nothing more than being outside. Whether he was hunting, fishing along the river, riding four-wheelers and motorcycles with his kids, or hiking and rock climbing in the mountains near Mt. Rainier, he found peace and happiness in nature. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Bergman. Don leaves behind a large and loving family, including his seven children: Karen Bell (Wayne), Dan Bergman (Brenda), Jeff Bergman (Debbie), Kathy Orsborn (Bill), Rebecca McKibbon (John), Jill Sanders (Daryl), and Jody Luft (Spencer). He was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and a great-grandfather to ten. Don is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Diane Clark, and three nieces. A celebration of Don's life will be held on May 2, 2025, at 1 pm at the Castle Rock Nazarene Church located at 456 Pioneer Ave NE Castle Rock, WA 98611.
